Acerca del evento
This training is sponsored by Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency. Discounted registration is $25, regularly $250. Lunch will be provided.
Oregon CALM assists health care and direct service providers in using Lethal Means Counseling with an informed, collaborative, and respectful approach. It has been adapted from the National CALM curriculum to incorporate components of Addressing Firearm Safety with Patients at Risk of Suicide: A Couse for Healthcare Providers in Rural Areas and research with Oregon rural firearm owners.
This training meets a portion of the Oregon HB2315 legislative mandate for suicide-specific continuing education for all mental health and behavioral health roles. Oregon CALM is a suicide prevention training that is neither anti-gun nor anti-medication. Given the focus on lethal means counseling, course content and discussions will cover these topics in depth.Â
