Acerca del evento

The Network of Safety is a small grassroots collective working to create connection, cohesion, and streamlined communication around suicide loss in the community.

Day 1 - Connect Training - 9:30 am - 4 pm

Postvention is a term used to describe how different systems and organizations work together using a planned response protocol to respond to a suicide attempt, loss, or any sudden death. Because knowing someone who has died of suicide is one of the biggest risk factors for suicide, we see postvention as a powerful and necessary component of suicide PREVENTION efforts. In this training, participants will learn about postvention protocols in Oregon and begin to think about various roles in responding to suicide loss.

Day 2 - Network of Safety Strategic Planning Retreat - 8 am - 4 pm

This day is focused on connecting with others working in a suicide-related capacity within Douglas County; resource mapping to identify current capacity, strenghts, and gaps in suicide postvention; and creating the foundation for ongoing work, including mission, vision, values, and setting short- and long-term goals. Suicide prevention is everyone's business...we're all in this together.

Please plan to attend both days in their entirety! Lunch will be provided.
